CLEO

Short for Cleopatra. She was named after the Egyptian Queen because of her darkly lined, expressive eyes reminiscent of the dark kohl makeup worn by powerful people of that time.

CLEO RECLINING

Cleo has an unusual ability of curling up in very small spaces when she wants to. Most Salukis and Cleo herself often prefer to stretch out when at rest. Cleo has a very sweet personality as is common in most Salukis. She only barks at the postman. :-)

SHARA

Shara's named is a shortened version of the name Shaharazade from the Arabian Tales Of a Thousand Nights. Shara is imported from Sweden and not fully grown yet. She is quite fast on the break if she sights a small animal, etc. Shara's black and white coloring with tan points are very striking and she already is much larger than her American housemate Cleo.

SHARA ALERT

Shara is usually in this very spot and this pose when her master Sherri and her three sons arrive home from work and school each day. After spending most of the day napping the two Salukis are ready to get rid of some access energy. Best to hug the walls and let their jubilance wear itself out.

HASNUL ISMAIL'S SALUKIS

Beautiful is the word which comes to mid when we first saw these photos submitted by Hasnul Ismail. His handsome dogs are so regal and so well-photographed that we must thank him profusely for sharing his Salukis with us!

Hasnul is a licensed veterinarian who lives and works in Selangor, Malaysia. He grew up accustomed more to cats than dogs but as he grew older and matured he became fascinated with the Saluki breed.

YAWN! WE'RE TIRED!

Obviously these two Salukis have enjoyed an energetic run outdoors and have satisfied their need for wide open spaces. Now they are ready for a nice, long nap in the cool shade.

LOOK HOW SMALL I CAN MAKE ME!

Salukis can curl up in the smallest spaces a if they fold their long legs in Yoga-like positions to achieve their purpose. When they "unwind" their bodies from this seemingly impossible position it is amazing to see them stretch out their full length!

DO BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN?

We don't know. But this beautiful Saluki certainly has a beguiling look, doesn't it? What a lovely color.

YES, I WANT TO KISS YOU!

Totally inquisitive and showing love in its' truest form this Saluki begs with his nose as much as his eyes. We can almost feel his cold, moist snout ready to come right out of the picture! What an adorable picture!
